From Aqua Luna, the ocean is never far away. The island sits in the heart of South Ari Atoll — one of the Maldives' most famous areas for marine life. Every day brings a chance to explore something different: quiet reefs, hidden sandbanks, or encounters with whale sharks and manta rays.

Whale Shark & Manta Trips
South Ari Atoll is the only place in the Maldives where whale sharks can be seen all year round. These gentle giants move through the warm waters near Dhangethi, and our guides know the best times and spots to meet them. During the right season, manta rays also gather near the reefs to feed.
Snorkelling & Diving
Colourful reefs surround the island on every side. You can start directly from the beach or join one of our guided boat trips to explore nearby sites. Expect to see turtles, reef sharks, rays, and a wide variety of corals and tropical fish.
Sandbank Picnics & Island Hopping
A short boat ride takes you to uninhabited islands and sandbanks surrounded by clear, shallow lagoons. Spend the day swimming, relaxing, and enjoying a picnic prepared by our kitchen. You can also visit nearby local islands to see daily life beyond Dhangethi.
Beach Barbecues
Few experiences capture the spirit of island life better than a barbecue by the sea. We can arrange private or small-group beach barbecues at sunset — freshly grilled local fish, salads, fruit, and the sound of the waves in the background.
Movie Night
A few evenings each week, Aqua Luna hosts relaxed movie nights either on the rooftop or by the beach. Comfortable seating, soft lights, and classic or travel-inspired films projected under the open sky. Drinks and snacks are available from the juice bar.
Traditional Handicraft Workshops
For guests who want to connect more deeply with Maldivian culture, we organise small workshops with local artisans on Dhangethi. Learn about traditional crafts such as coconut weaving, lacquer work, or palm-leaf art — skills passed down through generations.
Sunset Fishing & Dolphin Watching
Traditional Maldivian fishing at sunset is both calm and rewarding. Try your hand at catching reef fish the local way while the sky turns gold and violet. Dolphins are often seen on the way — playful, fast, and free.
